Every industry has its trends, and the electrical industry is no different. There are certain things homeowners want more of these days to get their home up to speed with our modern demands.
Here are a few of the most recent electrical trends, including one with the technology we use every day.
LED Lighting
One main trend in the electrical world right now is LED lighting. LED lighting is a longer-lasting light bulb. These bulbs can outlive a regular bulb by thousands of hours, but LED lights offer many other benefits. They also are available for most lighting fixtures.
They are both higher in brightness and intensity and are energy-efficient. They radiate a low amount of heat, meaning your room will stay cooler with the lights on.
Smart Devices
Another current electrical trend is smart wiring your house. Nowadays, consumers are wanting devices in their homes to help make things easier and more efficient. Being able to change your home lighting when you’re not home is becoming commonplace. Simply having an app on your phone and clicking an off button while away can make a big difference in your electrical bills.
If you constantly forget to turn off the lights before you leave, this trend can save you plenty of money. When setting up a smart home, it is best to make sure the cable is as close to the center of your home as possible. This will allow for your devices to work evenly throughout your home.
USB Ports
When it comes to the technology we use, Apple and other tech companies have led the way with another electrical trend. Apple recently switched all of its USB ports on laptop and desktop models to USB-C ports. This might seem like a pointless change, but it makes a huge difference.
Users are benefiting more from a USB-C port because it’s light years faster than a regular USB port – almost double the speed, actually. USB-C ports also charge a lot faster. Phones that use USB-C has an increase in high speed data with plug detection.
This means It is almost double the speed of a normal USB port and moves a lot quicker. Phones that now require USB-C can charge up to 50% battery in only 30 minutes. USB-C was first used back in 2014 but has only recently become all the rage.
